Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have acquired comprehensive medical training with a main focus on conditions pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to care for problems extending from typical disorders for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more sophisticated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical education which furnish them the experience necessary to execute surgery on those concerns that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait problems allows a Podiatric doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and minimize the risk of many complications which the feet frequently encounter.
