Doctors at The Foot Institute – Lloydminster provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors devote an average of 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and as a matter of fact numerous podiatry training programs are located within these schools. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.
Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received considerable medical training with an importance on complications involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are studied to care for problems varying from basic ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more obscure like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical instruction which supply them the prior experience essential to execute surgical treatment on those conditions that are ideally remedied through surgical treatment.
Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatric doctor to create footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and defend against countless troubles which the feet routinely encounter.
