Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Spruce Grove specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists spend an average of a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and quite a number podiatry programmes are located inside these institutions. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have acquired extensive health care education with an importance on problems involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to care for complications stretching from regular ailments for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more challenging for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical training which supply them the prior experience required to perform surgical treatment on those troubles that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other tasks.
