Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. They spend around 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in fact various podiatry programs are located inside these academic institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have obtained wide-ranging health care training with a concentration on complications pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are trained to treat difficulties varying from typical conditions like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more obscure for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical education which provide them the skill crucial to execute surgery on those concerns that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Foot doctor to develop shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and avoid a large number of problems which the feet frequently encounter.
