They invest approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and actually various podiatry programs are located inside these academic institutions. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained substantial health care education with an emphasis on problems involving the feet and ankles. Understanding biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it possible for a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and help prevent many troubles which the feet normally encounter.
