Foot Institute Doctors devote around a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles regular medical school and in fact many podiatry training programs lie inside these institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait problems enables a Foot doctor to design footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of complications which the feet frequently encounter.
