Our podiatrists invest around a decade in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in reality quite a number podiatry training programs lie within these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired extensive health care education with an emphasis on problems regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to deal with concerns varying from usual conditions such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more perplexing for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical training which give them the practical experience necessary to carry out surgery on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and prevent many problems which the feet usually encounter.
