Doctors at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors invest an average of 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and several podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received extensive health care training with a main focus on difficulties involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are educated to deal with issues varying from simple afflictions such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more sophisticated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical instruction which supply them the experience necessary to execute surgical treatment on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait problems makes it easy for a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and avoid countless problems which the feet regularly experience.
