Foot Institute Doctors invest an average of ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programmes are contained inside these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received thorough medical education with a stress on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to treat problems ranging from simple ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more sophisticated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical instruction which supply them the experience necessary to carry out surgery on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait irregularities allows a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and prevent many problems which the feet usually experience.
