They devote an average of 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles standard medical school and in point of fact several podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.
