Foot Institute Podiatrists devote an average of 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles regular medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programs are located inside these institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained encompassing medical training with a stress on complications involving the feet and ankles. They are educated to handle issues extending from basic conditions for example, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more sophisticated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Podiatric physician to design footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and prevent numerous issues which the feet regularly experience.
