Foot Institute Podiatrists invest approximately 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles usual medical school and in reality numerous podiatry programs are contained within these schools. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have obtained extensive medical training with an emphasis on problems regarding the feet and ankles. They are studied to handle problems extending from common ailments like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more challenging including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have substantial surgical training which supply them the practical experience required to carry out surgery on those issues that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities permits a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of conditions which the feet generally experience.
