Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. They spend an average of 10 years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and several podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received substantial medical training with a main focus on complications concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to manage problems ranging from usual disorders for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more challenging for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have substantial surgical education which supply them the experience necessary to execute surgery on those troubles that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Comprehending biomechanics and gait irregularities permits a Podiatric doctor to develop shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of numerous troubles which the feet frequently encounter.
