Foot Institute Doctors devote approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and in point of fact various podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired comprehensive healthcare instruction with a main focus on issues pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are trained to manage complications ranging from common ailments for example, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more perplexing including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have considerable surgical education which provide them the expertise required to carry out surgery on those problems that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors likewise have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities permits a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and help prevent many complications which the feet typically encounter.
