Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Airdrie focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists invest around 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in point of fact numerous podiatry training programs lie inside these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have gained extensive medical education with an emphasis on difficulties pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to care for complications stretching from normal disorders for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more perplexing including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical training which provide them the prior experience required to execute surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally managed through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and minimize the risk of countless problems which the feet commonly encounter.
