Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors here at The Foot Institute – Airdrie provide services for the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend around a decade in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in reality a number of podiatry programmes lie inside these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired considerable medical training with a main focus on concerns involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are skilled to deal with concerns stretching from regular ailments for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical instruction which furnish them the practical experience essential to execute surgery on those concerns that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Podiatric doctor to develop footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and help prevent a large number of problems which the feet routinely encounter.
