Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Airdrie provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists invest around ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to usual medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programmes lie within these academic institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have obtained extensive healthcare training with a focus on difficulties regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to deal with concerns varying from general afflictions such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more perplexing for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical instruction which give them the practical experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it easy for a Foot doctor to create footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and prevent a large number of issues which the feet regularly encounter.
