Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Airdrie provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They spend about 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programs are located within these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have gained comprehensive healthcare training with an importance on problems regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are taught to handle issues varying from normal disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are a lot more puzzling including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have considerable surgical education which give them the expertise necessary to execute surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to create footwear and orthotics that can give pain relief and defend against countless conditions which the feet frequently encounter.
