Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals at The Foot Institute – Airdrie specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They invest about 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and several podiatry training programs are located within these schools. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received extensive health care training with an attention to on concerns pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are studied to treat concerns extending from normal disorders for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are a lot more perplexing like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical instruction which give them the expertise vital to conduct surgery on those issues that are ideally remedied through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait problems enables a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and prevent countless conditions which the feet frequently encounter.
