Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Airdrie specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors invest an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and quite a number podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have acquired extensive health care training with a focus on complications pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to address problems extending from familiar conditions for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have considerable surgical instruction which furnish them the experience crucial to execute surgery on those troubles that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of issues which the feet frequently encounter.
