Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Airdrie focus on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors put in about 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and various podiatry programs are contained inside these institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have gained wide-ranging health care training with an importance on difficulties concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to treat issues extending from normal conditions such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have substantial surgical instruction which give them the expertise needed to conduct surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors likewise have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it possible for a Podiatric doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and protect against many conditions which the feet usually encounter.
