Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Calgary provide services for the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. They devote an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to traditional medical school and in reality many podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired comprehensive healthcare training with a stress on difficulties concerning the feet and ankles. They are trained to address concerns varying from simple disorders for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more perplexing for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical instruction which supply them the practical experience vital to conduct surgery on those complications that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other tasks.
