Our podiatrists put in around ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in reality various podiatry training programs lie inside these academic institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have gained wide-ranging healthcare education with a stress on conditions pertaining to the feet and ankles. They are taught to care for problems stretching from common afflictions such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more complicated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical education which give them the practical experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait deviations makes it easy for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and help prevent many issues which the feet regularly encounter.
