Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors invest an average of a decade in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and as a matter of fact various podiatry programmes lie inside these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have gained substantial healthcare training with a concentration on conditions involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to handle complications ranging from usual conditions for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more complicated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical instruction which furnish them the expertise necessary to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it possible for a Podiatric physician to create shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and defend against many troubles which the feet frequently encounter.
