Our doctors invest approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and actually various podiatry programmes are located within these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have obtained substantial health care training with an importance on concerns regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to care for concerns extending from commonplace ailments like ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical training which provide them the skill required to conduct surgery on those troubles that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics that can provide pain relief and help prevent a large number of conditions which the feet regularly encounter.
