Doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists devote an average of 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles general medical school and actually several podiatry programmes lie within these institutions. At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have acquired extensive healthcare instruction with a stress on complications involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to manage issues extending from simple afflictions like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more sophisticated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical education which give them the experience required to perform surgical treatment on those conditions that are best handled through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other tasks.
