They devote approximately 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and several podiatry programs lie within these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received extensive healthcare instruction with an emphasis on complications regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are instructed to care for issues ranging from standard disorders such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more intricate like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical training which supply them the practical experience needed to conduct surgical treatment on those conditions that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait abnormalities facilitates a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics that can provide pain relief and defend against countless complications which the feet routinely encounter.
