Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors put in about 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and in fact various podiatry programs are contained within these schools. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have acquired thorough healthcare training with a focus on concerns concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to treat difficulties ranging from standard ailments for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more obscure including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have considerable surgical instruction which give them the experience crucial to conduct surgery on those concerns that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait problems makes it easy for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and prevent countless conditions which the feet routinely encounter.
