Foot Institute Doctors spend about 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and a number of podiatry programmes are contained within these academic institutions. At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received extensive healthcare training with a stress on difficulties pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to deal with issues ranging from simple ailments like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more challenging for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical education which provide them the expertise crucial to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Podiatric doctor to develop shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and help prevent many troubles which the feet normally encounter.
