Foot Institute Podiatrists spend around 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact many podiatry training programs lie within these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained wide-ranging health care training with a main focus on concerns involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to deal with problems extending from conventional afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more puzzling for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical instruction which furnish them the expertise necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those complications that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it possible for a Foot doctor to develop shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and protect against many conditions which the feet typically encounter.
