Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. They spend an average of a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and as a matter of fact numerous podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received thorough medical training with an emphasis on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are instructed to manage difficulties ranging from commonplace disorders such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more complicated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical training which give them the expertise needed to conduct surgical treatment on those concerns that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait deviations makes it possible for a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and help prevent numerous conditions which the feet regularly experience.
