Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists invest approximately a decade in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and a number of podiatry programs are contained inside these schools. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have gained encompassing medical training with a stress on issues concerning the ankles and feet. They are instructed to deal with conditions stretching from general disorders for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more obscure like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have substantial surgical instruction which furnish them the experience needed to execute surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally managed through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Comprehending biomechanics and gait problems empowers a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and minimize the risk of many issues which the feet usually experience.
