Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They devote approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in reality many podiatry programmes are contained inside these academic institutions. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained thorough health care training with an emphasis on complications pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are skilled to treat conditions ranging from general disorders for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more puzzling for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical training which give them the prior experience essential to carry out surgery on those problems that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it easy for a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and help prevent a large number of problems which the feet usually encounter.
