They devote approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in reality many podiatry programmes are contained inside these academic institutions. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.
