Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. They invest approximately 10 years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles standard medical school and many podiatry programs are located inside these schools. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received extensive medical education with a focus on problems regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to manage conditions ranging from regular ailments like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more perplexing like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical instruction which supply them the practical experience crucial to carry out surgical treatment on those concerns that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait problems permits a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and help prevent many conditions which the feet routinely encounter.
