Foot Institute Podiatrists devote about 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact various podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have received significant medical instruction with a main focus on conditions pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are qualified to manage problems stretching from general afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more complicated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical education which furnish them the skill needed to carry out surgery on those problems that are ideally handled through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait irregularities allows a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and prevent many complications which the feet usually encounter.
