Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists put in an average of ten years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in fact numerous podiatry training programs are located within these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have acquired substantial healthcare training with a stress on problems regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to manage conditions varying from common problems such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more complex like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical training which supply them the practical experience vital to perform surgical treatment on those conditions that are best handled through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait problems empowers a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and avoid countless complications which the feet normally encounter.
