Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. They spend an average of 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and actually numerous podiatry programs are contained within these academic institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have received encompassing medical instruction with a concentration on concerns regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are educated to manage difficulties stretching from commonplace ailments like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more perplexing for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical training which provide them the experience vital to perform surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and avoid many problems which the feet usually experience.
