Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors invest approximately 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in fact various podiatry training programs are contained within these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained substantial health care education with a stress on conditions pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to manage problems stretching from familiar disorders for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more obscure like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical training which supply them the experience required to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and avoid numerous conditions which the feet commonly encounter.
