Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists spend an average of ten years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in reality several podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received extensive medical training with a stress on issues pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are studied to deal with complications varying from commonplace ailments for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have substantial surgical instruction which furnish them the prior experience essential to perform surgery on those concerns that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities empowers a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and prevent many issues which the feet routinely experience.
