Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. They devote an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have gained comprehensive medical training with a main focus on issues concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to deal with concerns ranging from basic conditions like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical education which supply them the skill necessary to conduct surgery on those complications that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and protect against numerous troubles which the feet routinely experience.
