Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. They put in about 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles regular medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are contained inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Doctors have gained extensive healthcare instruction with an importance on problems pertaining to the feet and ankles. They are qualified to treat concerns stretching from simple disorders like ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more complicated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical training which give them the expertise necessary to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of numerous complications which the feet regularly encounter.
