Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. They spend approximately 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are located within these schools. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have acquired substantial healthcare training with an emphasis on conditions pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to treat concerns ranging from normal ailments for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more sophisticated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which furnish them the prior experience vital to conduct surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and help prevent numerous troubles which the feet commonly encounter.
