Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists put in an average of ten years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles usual medical school and in reality many podiatry programs are located within these schools. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received significant medical training with a main focus on problems involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are qualified to treat complications extending from basic problems for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more complex for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical training which supply them the practical experience needed to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait deviations makes it possible for a Podiatric doctor to develop shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and defend against many problems which the feet typically encounter.
