Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They devote about 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and as a matter of fact various podiatry programmes are contained inside these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained thorough medical education with an importance on issues concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to treat concerns stretching from commonplace conditions such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more complicated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have substantial surgical education which provide them the practical experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those conditions that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Comprehending biomechanics and gait problems permits a Podiatric doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and minimize the risk of numerous troubles which the feet routinely encounter.
