Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in reality a number of podiatry training programs are contained inside these academic institutions. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received thorough healthcare training with a main focus on conditions concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to address issues ranging from normal conditions for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more challenging for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical education which furnish them the expertise needed to perform surgery on those complications that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Comprehending biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and avoid countless complications which the feet normally encounter.
