Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists devote an average of 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry programs are located inside these institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained extensive healthcare education with a focus on complications regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to address problems varying from typical ailments such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more puzzling like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical education which provide them the skill required to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Podiatric physician to create footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and minimize the risk of countless troubles which the feet usually encounter.
