Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Airdrie provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors spend around 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and various podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received extensive healthcare instruction with an attention to on conditions concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to address complications extending from normal disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more challenging for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical training which furnish them the experience necessary to perform surgery on those complications that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait irregularities allows a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and defend against a large number of issues which the feet typically experience.
