Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Airdrie concentrate on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists spend an average of a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles regular medical school and in fact quite a number podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have obtained thorough health care education with a stress on conditions involving the ankles and feet. They are taught to address conditions varying from common disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more complicated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical education which furnish them the prior experience essential to perform surgery on those complications that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Foot doctor to create footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and protect against countless complications which the feet regularly encounter.
