Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Airdrie provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors invest about 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and as a matter of fact a number of podiatry programs are located inside these schools. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired wide-ranging health care training with an emphasis on concerns involving the ankles and feet. They are qualified to manage issues extending from commonplace disorders for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more complex like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical education which provide them the practical experience necessary to carry out surgery on those issues that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities enables a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and prevent numerous issues which the feet generally experience.
