Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Airdrie concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists devote approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in reality several podiatry programmes are located inside these institutions. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained comprehensive healthcare training with a stress on issues regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to manage difficulties varying from simple conditions for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical instruction which provide them the experience necessary to execute surgery on those concerns that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait problems permits a Foot doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of many issues which the feet frequently experience.
